Mexico

Monterrey, Mexico, a desert city nestled in the Sierra Madre Mountains of northern Mexico, is the nation’s chief center of heavy industry and is Mexico’s third largest city (population: three million people). The middle-class and poor mingle closely, sometimes literally across the street from one another.

Missionaries work in cooperationwith the bishop of the Methodist Church of Mexico, and also with the Rev. Florencio and Maria Guzman, one of the Mission Society’s first missionaries (commissioned in 1985). Both the bishop and the Rev. Guzman are in need of U.S. churches willing to partner with them in the construction of church buildings and ministry centers throughout northern Mexico, especially in Monterrey. Skilled construction and cement workers are a plus. In addition, evangelism, drama, sports and youth teams can be used throughout this field.
