Robert Sturdy

Ministry description:

Robert Sturdy is an Episcopal Priest currently serving Trinity Church in Myrtle Beach as their Rector (senior pastor). He is the youngest serving Rector of the past 50 years of the Diocese of South Carolina.

Robert received his theological education at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University, England, and did his undergraduate studies at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. It was there that he came to faith reading John’s Gospel in the privacy of his room in L Co. 3rd Battalion.

Passionate about preaching, evangelism, and both global and local missions, he is currently leading the parish in a church plant and supervising the organization of the church’s first missions committee.

Married to his high school sweetheart, Stephanie, they have one son, David.

He has served on The Mission Society board since 2009.
