Elsie McCabe Thompson has held an unwavering commitment to help the underserved throughout her career – providing her decades of experience, strategic leadership, and vision to the nonprofit, cultural, legal, and government sectors. Prior to Mission Society, Elsie shepherded the Museum for African Art as its President for 15 years. In this capacity, she guided an organizational revitalization and led a financial and brand turnaround to establish the Museum prominently in New York. She also served as Co-Founder and Director of the National Urban Technology Center, as Chief of Staff to then-Mayor David N. Dinkins, and was a Senior Litigation Associate at Shearman & Sterling. Elsie received a BA at Barnard College, Columbia University, and her JD from Harvard Law School.

V. AnnDenise Brown has worked with Mission Society of New York City for nine years, previously serving as Senior Director of Children’s Programs. Prior to her time with the Mission Society, she worked internationally in research, training and program evaluation – holding positions at The Balm In Gilead, an NGO supporting faith-based organizations, Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, and the World Health Organization. She has a DrPH from Columbia University and a MA in Education from Cornell University.

Sara Elghobashy is a seasoned fundraiser with over a decade of experience in helping to elevate the missions of social impact organizations in New York City and beyond. Prior to joining Mission Society, she served as a Senior Director at Advance NYC, a nonprofit consulting firm, where she oversaw fundraising, communication, and strategic planning for a portfolio of social service, arts, and international development organizations. She began her career at the Arab-American Family Support Center, and has since worked with Women Aware, Room to Grow, and Women’s World Banking. She is a native Arabic speaker, and holds a BA in Religious Studies and Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies from New York University.

Richard Lustig is a strategic nonprofit human resources leader with demonstrated accomplishments in education, human services, healthcare, publishing, and sustainability. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of large nonprofits, including the International Rescue Committee, The Center for Discovery, Physician Affiliate Group of NY, and Consumer Union (publisher of Consumers Reports). He has experience partnering with senior leaders to create high performance cultures, and build and improve HR departments. He received a BA in Political Science from CUNY, a MA in Political Science from the University of Chicago and a MA in Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Sharada Singh is an accomplished Financial Leader with over twenty years of experience in nonprofit accounting. Throughout her career, she has provided timely and creative solutions to financial problems, and decision-relevant information to improve deliverables. She is especially skilled in effectively managing varied activities and operations with efficiency, and has extensive experience in the integration of financial, program, and fundraising operations. Prior to the Mission Society, she worked with The Women’s Prison Association & Home and The Children’s Aid Society. Sharada holds a MBA from Ramapo College of New Jersey, and a BA from Queens College of the City University of New York.
