Honoring Jewish American Heritage

May marks the beginning of Jewish American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate generations of Jewish Americans who continue to shape our nation's history. This month, the Mission Society is thrilled to highlight the remarkable legacies in the making that are transforming the fields of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Right here in our city, we hold the second-largest Jewish population in the world, and it is stories like these that provide the young people in our classrooms a sense of pride, connection, and inspiration - reminding them to dream big and embrace the boundless possibilities that lie far beyond our city's borders.

We hope you will join us in celebrating the Jewish revolutionaries who are sparking innovation across STEAM.

These prominent figures are not only transforming industries across STEAM, but are paving the way for future generations to innovate, create, and dream. While Jewish American Heritage Month is only one month, the opportunity to learn, amplify, and advocate is present year-round. Here at the Mission Society, we ensure that our classrooms reflect the diversity of our communities by recognizing a wide range of holidays, welcoming traditions, and incorporating cultural activities into our curriculum. Together, we can build a culture of greater understanding, where everyone feels valued and celebrated for who they are and what they can contribute to the world.
