Este Mes de la Herencia Hispana, la Mission Society invita a nuestra comunidad a celebrar y honrar las culturas, tradiciones y contribuciones de los Hispanos y Latinoamericanos. Este es un momento para dar la bienvenida a las historias que han formado generaciones y honrar la resiliencia, creatividad, y espíritu que son partes de las diversas culturas que conforman nuestra ciudad. La herencia hispana está tejida en la misma tela de nuestras comunidades y se refleja en el arte de Frida Kahlo y Pablo Picasso, los ritmos de la música salsa y merengue, los deliciosos sabores de la cocina latina, y los logros de individuos que traspasan fronteras.

Esperamos que nos acompañen en participar en algunos eventos y recursos próximos para celebrar el mes, y bienvenir a las comunidades vibrantes que han dejado una huella imborrable en nuestro mundo. ¡Viva la herencia hispana!


This Hispanic Heritage Month, the Mission Society invites our community to celebrate and honor the vibrant cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino/a Americans. This is a time to embrace the stories that have shaped generations and honor the resilience, creativity, and spirit embedded within the diverse cultures that make up our city. Hispanic heritage is woven into the very fabric of our communities and is reflected in the artistry of Frida Kahlo and Pablo Picasso, the rhythms of salsa and merengue music, the delicious flavors of Latin cuisine, and the groundbreaking achievements of individuals who transcend borders.

3 Ways To Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Join Ballet Hispánico, the nation's largest Latinx dance organization, at Celebración Latina. This lively, family-friendly event features live music, local food vendors, dance performances, and free dance classes, all celebrating Hispanic culture, pride, and representation.


Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the New York Public Library through a variety of engaging activities. Dive into arts and crafts to create your own guiro, a traditional Puerto Rican musical instrument. Discover the pioneering achievements of Argentine Heart Surgeon, Domingo Liotta, with a hands-on STEAM activity. For families, enjoy a bilingual storytime in English and Spanish, featuring engaging books, songs, and language learning.


Discover the beauty of Latin America through art, literature, and culture at the free Hispanic Society Museum & Library in upper Manhattan.
